Erdogan: Türkiye will establish a security and peace belt in the world

Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who was recently re elected as the 13th President of Türkiye, stressed that Türkiye's goal is to establish a zone of security and peace in the world.


May 30), Erdogan said at the 79th Congress of Türkiye Chamber of Commerce and Commodity Exchange Union held in the capital Ankara: "Our goal is to build a security and peace belt from Europe to the Black Sea, from the Caucasus and the Middle East to North Africa."


Erdogan also vowed to solve the EU visa issue in Türkiye as soon as possible. He said that this issue has recently been used as political blackmail.


Since the Republic of Türkiye will celebrate the 100th anniversary of its official Republic Day on October 29, Erdogan hopes to work with the business community, civil society and political institutions to build the "Türkiye Century".


Erdogan added that rebuilding the earthquake stricken areas and the economy remains his government's top priority.


The winner of the marathon election

Erdogan said in his speech: "Türkiye's democracy and Türkiye's national won the election marathon."


On May 28, in the first round of elections on May 14, no candidate exceeded the 50% threshold required for a complete victory. Türkiye entered the voting stage of the presidential runoff election.


According to data from the Supreme Electoral Council, Erdogan won the election with 52.14% of the vote, while opposition candidate Kemal Kirich Daroglu received 47.86% of the vote.


Erdogan said: "Every citizen who believes in the will of the country, has dreams for our country, and feels that he belongs to this land is the undisputed winner of this election. Türkiye has successfully completed one of the most important electoral processes in its history, and we held two elections in a perfect way consistent with our democratic system."
